Riddles, poems, and nursery rhymes are the protagonists in this book’s text. They were selected by illustrators from every continent and even remote islands.

To accompany them, these illustrators created expressive and evocative drawings—featuring animals, humans, and even saints in bottled candles.

This invaluable compilation was published in 2004, and for its realization, the artists gave up, in the words of Patricia Aldana (then a member of IBBY and later its president): “a substantial royalty from all sales of this book to IBBY so that it can continue and expand its work, especially in ensuring that children all over the world have access to their own wonderful illustrated books.”

Adivinanzas, poemas y nanas son las protagonistas del texto de este libro. Han sido escogidas por ilustradores de cada continente y hasta de islas remotas.

Para acompañarlas, estos ilustradores han creado dibujos expresivos y sugerentes. En ellos aparecen animales, humanos e incluso santos de cera.

Esta compilación invaluable fue publicada en 2004, y para su realización, las y los artistas cedieron, en palabras de Patricia Aldana (entonces miembro y luego presidenta de IBBY): “una parte importante de las regalías de las ventas del libro a IBBY para que pueda expandir su labor, especialmente la de asegurar que niños de todo el mundo tengan acceso a sus propios libros ilustrados”.
